••Accomplishments - Volunteer Co-ordinator - Distillery Jazz Festival
 
  • Reporting to the General Manager, was Volunteer Coordinator for the first two years of this 11 day festival which, in its second year, had eight venues operating on site with 750 plus volunteer shifts required for the effective running of the event.
  • Recruited new volunteers and Team Leaders for key areas
  • Interviewed and hired Assistant Volunteer Coordinator
  • Scheduled volunteer shifts
  • Established protocols to further the goal of creating a proper volunteer database
  • Supervised development of the first iteration of the Volunteer Manual, writing a significant portion of the document relating to team/individual responsibilites/priviliges
  • Reviewed volunteer resumes, diverting as appropriate to key positions in technical, media relations and supervisory areas
  • Organized the set up and maintenance of the volunteer headquarters/clubhouse
  • Analyzed site logistics and anticipated attendance to determine the event requirements
  • Planned and hosted all volunteer meetings and recruitment sessions
  • Created and implemented all associated volunteer paperwork, sign-in sheets, checklists, volunteer comment forms etc. and assigned the tabulation of data
  • Designed, created and launched volunteer website, Jazzbaby! to use as a recruitment/training/information tool for the volunteers
  • Communicated daily with volunteers by mass e-mail during the festival run with relevant news
  • Supervised the creation and maintenance of volunteer files, list and schedules
